TAHOE BASIN TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PLAN

A cooperative effort each year is made by Caltrans,
Nevada Department of Transportation, Truckee-North Tahoe Transportation Management Association, South Lake Transportation Management Association and other public agencies, utilities, businesses and others to minimize traffic impacts through the construction work zones.

Hwy 89 Mousehole Closure – Truckee, California

Highway 89 “Mousehole” Subject to Closure

Truckee – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announces today that emergency pavement repairs on Highway 89 in the “Mousehole” area will begin on May 18. The construction schedule is:

May 18 – 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. – one-way traffic controls for construction preparation work
May 19, 6 a.m. through May 21, 6 p.m. – Full highway closure for pavement replacement

A detour is available and will be clearly marked.

The closure is part of a $200,000 storm damage repair project. This project will replace the roadway pavement in the “Mousehole” area. The general contractor for this project is Granite Construction. Completion is scheduled for May 21 at 6 p.m.

Caltrans urges all motorists to use caution in this area and to “Slow for the Cone Zone”.
