Emerald Bay Connection Starts May 23, 2009!

May 22, 2009

The Emerald Bay Connection is new and improved service that will start May 23rd ….. This service replaces the former Emerald Bay Shuttle that ran successfully for the past three years but only every other hour.  The Emerald Bay Connection will be available hourly!

The CONNECTION will be available at Tahoma TART stops.

This is how it works:  The BlueGo Nifty Fifty Trolley is coming from South Lake Tahoe to Tahoma this Summer!  TART buses will connect in Tahoma with BlueGo (FREE Connections with TART or BlueGo Day Passes).

This will enable travelers from Truckee, Squaw Valley, Kings Beach, or Incline Village to hop on a TART Bus and travel to Tahoma to transfer to BlueGo’s Trolley and travel to Emerald Bay, Camp Richardson Resort, USFS Recreational sights and all the way to the South Lake Tahoe “Y” transit station!

Departure times on the TART buses from Tahoe City start at 9:30 AM near Bank of America.  The BlueGo Nifty Fifty Trolley will depart every hour from Tahoma from 10:08 AM at the PDQ Market or the Tahoma Post Office at 10:10 AM with the last return from South Lake Tahoe being at 5:15 PM and from Emerald Bay at 5:46 PM.  See www.laketahoetransit.com for a more detailed schedule or you can call TART at 530-550-1212 or BlueGo at 530-541-7149.

This Emerald Bay Connection service is provided by a special grant from the US Forest Service.
